Why Submit Your Site?
Search engines crawl millions of pages a day. If you don't tell them your site exists — and where your sitemap is — you might wait weeks to get indexed.
📍 Google Search Console
- Visit Google Search Console
- Log in with a Gmail account
- Click “Add Property” and enter your domain (use domain-level, not just URL prefix)
- Verify ownership (DNS TXT record is most accurate)
📍 Bing Webmaster Tools
- Visit Bing Webmaster Tools
- Sign in with Microsoft, Google, or Facebook
- Add your domain the same way as in Google
- You can even import your GSC settings if you already submitted to Google
📄 Submit Your Sitemap
- Make sure your sitemap is live (e.g.
https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml)
- In both platforms, go to the "Sitemaps" section and enter the URL
- You should see Success after a few minutes
🛠 Check Indexing Progress
- In Google: use the “URL Inspection” tool
- Check if specific URLs are “Indexed” or “Discovered – not indexed”
- Request indexing for new or updated pages
Pro Tips
- Update your sitemap when you launch new pages
- Robots.txt must allow indexing:
Allow: /
- Use HTTPS — Google may deprioritize non-secure sites
- Indexing can take hours or days. Be patient.
